Season 24

Published on

I owe a lot to the game of hockey and what it’s meant to me for the last 24 seasons.

More specifically I’ve been fortunate enough to grow up watching the Nashville Predators. All the way back to when it was the Gaylord Entertainment Center and I cheered for guys like David Legwand and Tomas Vokoun.

As a young fan I would get excited riding into downtown Nashville and once I saw the AT&T (batman) building I knew right where I was going, to the Preds game.

Eventually, the next place closest to home was Centennial Sportsplex. Learning to play the game was just as important as going to see the Predators in person.

Fast forward I played all the way through high school and then went to college. I knew I wanted to pursue being part of hockey again one day and journalism was the best thing for me.

WKU was home for a few years and along the way I began to work at 102.5 The Game.

The flagship station was what kept my heart attached to the Predators too. Pete Weber and Terry Crisp were the main voices. I would listen to the pregame show going in to watch them play and then the postgame show heading home.

Once in a while, my uncle would take me down to Patron Platinum Club to see the postgame show live with a chance to meet the interviewed player.

After a few months of being with 102.5, I was told I’d learn how to do highlights for the Predators broadcast.

One season later and here I am looking at a brand new chapter about to unfold right before my very eyes.

Tonight I will be producing the radio broadcast while I have a highlight producer behind me.

You’ll never work a day in your life if you love what you do and without a doubt that’s become the life I have today and don’t take for granted.
